Seattle Seahawks have a commanding lead against San Francisco 49ers as they approach half-time for the last and most important clash for NFC West. A dominant performance that has been lacking this season.
Seattle leads 10–3 at half-time, but their lead feels closer than the apparent dominance on the field.
Seahawks Control the Game but Miss Opportunities
The Seahawks came out with all the right momentum, but their momentum lead of the field was unconverted. Sam Darnold took a rather untimely sack on what should have been an easy touchdown to Zach Charbonnet. This forced Seattle to drive and attempt a goal line stand fourth down conversion that they’d ultimately fail to.
Kicker Jason Myers missed a field goal, and a kickoff out of bounds gave the 49ers a prime field position, which they capitalized on with field goal.
Seattle has made it no secret that they are the pace setters, and they are clearly dominating.### Zach Charbonnet Shows What He Can Do
So far, the only touchdown in the Seahawks vs 49ers game is in the books for Zach Charbonnet when he ran through the 49ers defense for a 27-yard touchdown run on 3rd-and-2, putting Seattle ahead.
Even on the stat sheet, Seattle dominates:
- Seahawks rushing yards: 115
- 49ers total offense: 69 yards
Seattle’s run game, along with their defense, has kept Kyle Shanahan’s offense out of sync and has limited the Niners on offense.
Scoreboard Close, Performance Not So Much
Even though the Seahawks score shows only a one possession game, on both sides of the ball, Seattle has been the more disciplined and aggressive team. The 49ers score showcases more of the Seattle defense with less of the 49ers offense.
If Seattle is able to execute better in the red zone and cut down on the mistakes in special teams, they will pull away with the game in the second half.
Stay Locked In
As with any Seahawk and 49er game, the rivalry always is a great rivalry, and the second half will be a big chapter in the NFC West Race.
