The Blues had relentless confidence from their victories against Barcelona and Arsenal. But their confidence would sustain their struggles thus far and during a game against a noted rival venue, Ellend Road. From the, the level of performance had diminished and the game had become a chess match as coach Enzo Maresca tried a roster with different players. Neither team found their offensive rhythm.
The first half ended with Leeds possessing the ball and earning two goals a two score and a long range shot, which at first were not quility offensive attempts, but they were otherwise in total and deserved control of the match. 2-0.
At half, coach Maresca attempted a roster change to immediate results as Pedro Neto scored a goal shortly after to give hope and belief to the Blues as the offense continued their efforts, although in futility.
The other side of the pitch held a on their toes and active home crowd while Leeds held formation and constanlty attempted to score a goal, netting one, but the score would be a disapointing off Sides.
Cole Palmer attempted to step in and adjust the score after a two month rest, but the momentum the other roster had created was already far too great.
The side who would end the game after a costly defensive mistake, the third goal and the win, would not be the side who started the game with the ball. Overall, on the day, the team and players from Chelsea would not be the side to play their best.
